Import teachers and students

Where Organization admins import teachers and students in bulk, which method to use, and the recommended order.

Goal: Choose the right import method and complete the first successful import.

Adding a few records: For only a few classes, teachers, or students, go to Settings → Organization & intake → Classes / Teachers / Students and use New or Copy selected. See Classes and teacher access. This guide covers bulk intake.

Choose a method first

Where is Import?

Organization admin → Settings → Import (Data integration). This area contains data import, data export, logs, and batches; exact labels may vary by version.

The Classes / Teachers / Students directory is under Settings → Organization & intake, not Import. After a successful import, verify accounts and class membership in the directory. Only Organization admins can perform imports.

Shortest CSV path

Read CSV: what you can do.
Download the official template and complete it using CSV templates and fields.
Follow First CSV import: Validate → Submit → View batch.
Correct failed rows using Common CSV errors, then import them again.

Class membership

Test with a sample of 5–10 rows before importing the full file.

Confirm success

The successful-row count in the import batch matches your expectation.
New accounts and class membership appear under Organization & intake → Teachers / Students / Classes.
Teachers can publish a task for the class, and students can see it in To-do.
