How do practice mode, scenario, and pipeline differ?
- Practice mode: What the student experiences (free speaking, scenario practice, exam, etc.)
- Scenario: Concrete topic (self-intro, interview, …)
- Practice pipeline: Eval/dialogue chain behind the scenes; usually set by platform + org policy—teachers/students do not tick every piece

What is an Agent? Do I select them myself?
An Agent is a capability unit in the speaking chain (dialogue, correction, scoring, pronunciation, etc.). The practice pipeline composes them; pick practice mode/scenario in the UI—you should not and need not select underlying Agents. See Glossary · Agent.
Why can’t teachers/students pick a practice mode?
Triage in order:
- Practice policy did not open it → Organization admin enables it in policy
- Platform capability pack not enabled → SaaS: contact the platform; private: Super admin
- With a teacher task, the task wins—student preferences cannot widen it

Who wins—capability packs or practice policy?
Actually available to students/teachers = platform capability packs ∩ org practice policy
Packs are the ceiling (L0); policy is what this org opens (L1). See Platform capability packs, Org policy and enablement.
What are L0 / L1 / L2 / L3?
Four config layers: platform → org → teacher task / class defaults → student preferences; a lower layer cannot break an upper one. Map: Four configuration layers; teacher/student detail: L2 / L3.
Student changed settings—why did homework stay the same?
With a teacher task, the task wins; personal preferences mainly affect free practice when there is no task (and only if the org allows it). See Teacher tasks and student preferences.
Speaking works, but Super admin shows a pack as disabled?
The “capability pack catalog” and “speaking engine / runtime ENV” can be separate switches—a reconciliation issue, not always a broken feature. Private: Super admin and platform capabilities.
Is oral placement a business capability? Can we turn it off?
A standalone product capability (students start from Home / Me). It is not toggled in L1 practice policy or L2 tasks; it does not auto-change class language level, is not part of stage grades, and does not store placement audio. See Topic: Oral placement; student steps: Oral placement.
